SnapFlow – Privacy Policy

🔒 Overview

SnapFlow is a screenshot and screen recording tool for Google Chrome. Your privacy is our priority. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user. We do not collect personal information.

🚫 What We Do NOT Collect

☁️ Cloud Sharing (Optional)

When you click the Upload button, your screenshot or recording is sent to the cloud storage provider you have configured — either Cloudinary or your own AWS S3 bucket. This action only occurs when you explicitly initiate it — nothing is uploaded automatically.

If you use AWS S3, your files go directly to your own bucket using credentials you provide. SnapFlow never stores or transmits your AWS credentials beyond your local device.

🔑 Permissions Used

tabCapture / desktopCapture Capture the screen or active browser tab for screenshots and recordings.

storage / unlimitedStorage Save captured screenshots, recordings, and user preferences locally on your device.

activeTab / scripting Inject the annotation overlay so you can draw on screenshots in the current tab.

tabs / windows Open the capture viewer and preview pages in new windows.

alarms Track recording duration and trigger save reminders during long recordings.

offscreen Process and convert screen recording video in the background without blocking the UI.

clipboardWrite / clipboardRead Copy a captured screenshot directly to your clipboard, and read clipboard content only when you explicitly paste into the annotation editor.

notifications Notify you when a screen recording has finished processing and is ready to save.

<all_urls> Allow the annotation overlay to be injected on any website you choose to screenshot. No page content is read or transmitted.

👶 Children's Privacy

SnapFlow does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us immediately.

📝 Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the extension after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
